Well I must tell you I am relieved. Barack Obama did it! I thought he would but I remember 4 years ago sitting in my home thinking Bush would never get reelected... and he did. So this time I sat and watched and was glad we knew so fast. It is time for change and I am hoping that Obama can do it. He will have control of the Congress and should be able to bring everyone together.
My big and personal question is how will he treat Israel?
I will give Obama the benefit of the doubt and believe him when he says he is a friend of Israel. I do believe he will support Israel and we shall find out very soon if my trust is misplaced or not. If Obama can keep his attitude to Israel as he was when writing to the UN in January of this year we will be going in the right direction.
I am excited to have a African American President! I think this shows how far the USA has come and I think it shows the spirit and soul of the USA. I am an American and a Canadian living in Canada. But tonight I am a proud American and I will enjoy this feeling for a long time.
Obamas speech was nothing short of hitting the bulls eye. It was not over the top and it seemed to show the large responsibility Obama will have to deal with very soon. I also thought McCain's speech was very gracious and humble in a very poetic way.
Lets now hope that Barack Obama can lead this country into a more peaceful time. Lets hope he can bring the Iraq war to an end as soon as possible. Lets hope he can be strong and bring America back as an economic power house in the world. Lets hope he helps to pass laws to put the crooks on wall street in prison and allow everyone to have a equal chance to invest money in a environment that is honest and safe. Lets hope Obama can bring all Republicans and Democrats together and make some great change in America!
I know this is allot to hope for but I do think it is time and I think everyone is ready!
Good luck and God Bless.
